Pioneering US software and IT firm Cherwell is relocating its UK head office to Swindon’s Delta Business Park as it continues to grow.
The firm, currently based in serviced offices in Wootton Bassett, will move to Delta 1200 in mid-April, taking the building’s last ground floor suite of 4,870 sq ft on a new five-year lease.
European managing director Tony Probert said: “Delta 1200 is ideal to accommodate our immediate and future growth plans and once our fit-out works are completed in mid-April we will be relocating from serviced offices in Royal Wootton Bassett.
“The building’s modern image, efficient floor plate and location in West Swindon were key criteria. We were delighted that we were able to secure the property within days of it becoming available in the market again.”
The deal means Delta 1200 is now fully occupied. The building, once the headquarters of cleaning products group Reckitt Benckiser, is now part occupied by conveyancing services firm TM Group.
Cherwell was introduced to Delta 1200 by Jeremy Sutton of property agent Keningtons’ Swindon office, who was assisting the firm with its relocation.
He said: “We got our timing just right on this one. When we first started to look for new premises for Cherwell, this suite was under offer to another party.
“Their circumstances changed and the day they withdrew we were able to view with Cherwell and agree terms with the landlord’s joint agent Hartnell Taylor Cook.”
Chris Grazer of Hartnell Taylor Cook, which acted for landlords CBRE Global Investors, added: “The landlords were obviously disappointed when the other party withdrew just prior to Christmas as it was the second time this had happened on this particular suite. But with Jeremy introducing Cherwell to the property on the same day this was soon forgotten and the new lease has completed in relatively quick time.”
Cherwell specialises in IT service management and IT platform products.
