Swindon-based event and venue company Planet Pursuits has won gold and silver in the meeting industry’s most prestigious awards.
The firm, based on an organic farm in Purton, secured gold in the Best Event Provider category and claimed silver for Best Intermediary Agency with fewer than 40 employees in the Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards.
The firm had previously won a bronze in the awards two years running.
Director Simon Maddison said: “We are totally shocked to win as we are always up against some big industry players.
“The last few years have been tough in this industry and we have worked hard to adapt to a changing market placed. To win a gold and a silver is just an astonishing achievement for the team.”
The awards recognise and reward excellence and are the result of voting by the readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine. It is the oldest established awards programme in the industry.
The awards, which have acquired prestige over the past 26 years, aim to highlight the market’s best practices by letting the users of services vote. It is the only British voting system to do so. To safeguard quality, it works under the auspices of the independent Audit Bureau of Circulation. Categories span best hotel, best conference venue, best airline and best convention bureau.
Planet Pursuits has been providing event management and team building services throughout the UK and into Europe for more than 14 years. More recently it launched a venue and hotel booking company to complement its event services and has become preferred supplier to a number of large IT and civil engineering companies.
