Swindon and Wiltshire businesses will next week get a rare chance to meet trade experts from the British Embassies in the US and Canada and explore transatlantic export opportunities on a one-to-one basis.
The event, at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Bristol on Wednesday, March 5, is the latest ‘meet the expert’ event to be staged in the region by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the Government organisation that aims to boost UK exports.
The US is one of the South West’s biggest export markets. It is expanding steadily, consumer and business confidence is rising and the appetite for high-quality British products and services remains strong.
Businesses attending next week’s session will be able to find out how to establish a local presence and develop partnerships and strategic alliances during one-to-one meetings with trade advisers and experts from Chicago, Miami, Washington, Los Angeles and Toronto.
There will also be opportunities to ask questions on the essential exporting and legal issues that need to be considered when doing business or setting up in North America.
UKTI regional director Russell Jones said: “This event gives a unique opportunity to arrange one-to-one meetings with trade specialists who can provide direct routes to market and information on commercial opportunities to help enter the North American market with confidence.
“With consumer and business confidence steadily increasing in the US, now is the perfect time to explore these export opportunities and UKTI can help open doors and avoid costly mistakes.”
