Swindon’s rapidly-expanding online retailer Oak Furniture Land has again been ranked among the UK’s fastest-growing private businesses.
The firm has appeared at number 51 in the latest annual Fast Track 100 table, which recognises businesses with the highest sales growth over three years. It is the third time the firm, launched by Jason Bannister on eBay in 2006 but now opening stores across the UK, has been in the table.
Oak Furniture Land achieved a 71% increase in sales over the period. Sales for the year to September 2012 – the latest figures available – came in at £83.3m.
The firm employs nearly 300 people and last year moved into a 300,000 sq ft warehouse complex at South Marston to cope with its continued expansion.
The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table and awards programme is sponsored by Virgin, Barclays, Baker Tilly and BGF, and is compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company.
In April Oak Furniture Land appeared for the first time in the Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100 which ranks firms by increases in profits over three years. Oak Furniture Land was placed at number 19, having achieved growth of 87.92% over three years.
