Swindon interior door manufacturer Vicaima has supplied its products to one of London’s largest housing regeneration projects.

The Portuguese-owned firm, which makes a range of doors at its Greenbridge factory, was chosen by Sussex construction firm Rydon to supply 520 doors for new homes on the 1960s Packington Estate in Islington.

Some 538 flats are being replaced with 791 mixed-tenure houses and flats on the estate in an eight-year, six-phase programme costing £138m. Rydon is working in partnership with housing association The Hyde Group on the ambitious project, which aims to reconnect the community with the surrounding area and provide the type of environment that existed before the estate was built.

Vicaima has supplied 400 primed paint-grade doors and 120 of its Dekordor doors in oak finish to the project, which is meeting tough sustainability guidelines.
