Paul Whitmarsh, founder of Swindon commercial property agents Whitmarsh Lockhart, has been awarded the coveted title of the Most Active Deal Maker in Wiltshire’s property market.
The award is sponsored by the trade magazine Estates Gazette and awarded to the commercial agent responsible for undertaking the most commercial property transactions during 2012/2013. 
Paul, pictured, who has 27 years’ experience in the sector, said: “It was a great surprise to win the award and is as much a demonstration of the strength of Swindon and the North Wiltshire commercial property marketplace as my hard work and effort.
“I am very fortunate to be involved in an interesting profession which has always given me a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm for the job.
“I could not manage it without the assistance of a lot of hardworking and diligent members of staff.
“We are moving into a very interesting phase in the economic cycle as the economy recovers and I remain hopeful that I will achieve more transactions in 2014.”
Paul, a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Industrial Agents Society, formed Whitmarsh Lockhart with colleague James Lockhart in 1996. The firm has become the area’s largest agent for industrial property.
