Quality standard puts Swindon’s Flightlink Executive Travel in pole position

Swindon-based Flightlink Executive Travel has become one of the first dedicated chauffeur companies in the South West to be awarded the ISO9001:2008 certification.

The Cheney Manor-based said gaining the UKAS-accredited certification reflected its ambition to be the region’s undisputed leader in corporate chauffeur services.

Managing director Mike McCartney, who bought the business in 2008, said the quality standard also showed the hard work and dedication by his team over the past two years.

“But it was the appointment of Brian Hunt to operations manager in January of this year, with all his experience and focus in this area, that made it all possible,” he said.

Flightlink, launched 10 years ago, has a continued focus on service and has also gained platinum grading from the LPHCA, a network of chauffeur/private hire companies around the UK.

Flightlink’s drivers at are undertaking Driver Standards Agency-accredited defensive driver training and NVQ Level 2 in passenger transport. 

The privately-owned company sees training and development of staff as key to the success of the business, which became gained the Investor in People Bronze Standard two years ago, and a way of remaining one step ahead of rivals in a large, competitive market.

It uses the latest technology and a large fleet of E Class Mercedes saloons, driven by uniformed, professional drivers.
