Royal Wootton Bassett-based building & civil engineering contractor R J Leighfield & Sons has retained its a place on a regional construction framework agreement covering projects valued at £1m-plus.

Leighfield secured the place as part of the four-company Builders Consortium South West (BCSW), which was formed in 2009.

By maintaining its place in the Construction Framework South West, Leighfield, and the other consortium members ERH Construction, Pearce Construction and Herbert H Drew & Son, will be able to compete against major construction firms on major regional projects, some of which could be valued at above £30m.

BCSW communications director Denise O’Leary said: “As a consortium of smaller firms we understand that to compete with far larger businesses, we have to deliver a quality of service that exceeds expectations. And it’s equally important to offer clients the ability to choose local contractors that are major employers in the communities in which they are based.

“We believe the combination of our four companies delivers an unrivalled level of regional experience and securing a place on the Construction Framework South West for the second time is a boost for the communities around these businesses and the local supply chain we all need to fulfil our contracts.”
