Swindon networking group BNI Isambard is throwing open its doors to new businesses next month so they can see for themselves the way a referral-focused organisation operates.
The group, which meets for breakfast every Friday at the town’s Jurys Hotel, is inviting visitors to come along on Friday June 14, at 6.45am, to see how it can help businesses enter new markets and make connections. Visitors pay £10 for a buffet breakfast.
BNI Isambard member Steve Munson, who runs Old Town-based design and print company Studio Print Management Services, said: “BNI allows only one representative from each trade or profession to join any local BNI group.
“This means members can ensure they receive 100% of all new business in that category. Working together, members achieve incredible results, growing their businesses in ways they perhaps could never accomplish on their own. It’s like having your own unpaid sales and marketing team working for you, because your fellow members give out your cards and refer your business to people they meet.
“Why do they do this? Because they know you will do the same for them. Even in this digital age, we all know that ‘people buy people’, which is why word-of-mouth marketing is so successful for many different trades and professions.”
BNI Isambard says it has created referrals for its members to a value of more than £230,000 since it started in July 2011. Trades and professions currently unrepresented in the group – and so available – include building, marketing, office supplies, public relations, graphic design, and health and safety.
