Swindon builder Beard in running for coveted Business of the Year Award

Fast-growing Swindon construction firm Beard is among the finalists of the prestigious West of England Business of the Year Awards which have been announced today.
The PwC-sponsored awards are the most-prestigious in the region, recognising for the past 25 years to cream of the West’s dynamic companies. As well as the main award, there is an award for smaller businesses turning over £25m or less.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on July 4 at the Wills Memorial Building in Bristol. Swindon Business News and its sister titles Bristol Business News and Bath Business News, along with the new WestBusinessNews magazine, are among the sponsors of the awards.
PwC West region chairman Rob Lewis, said: “The awards, which are now in their 25th year, are designed to acknowledge and celebrate businesses in the West for their successes, achievements and contribution to the regional economy.

“The accomplished independent judging panel have undertaken the extremely difficult task of selecting the finalists from an impressive quality of nominations.”

The finalists are:
A-Gas, Bristol.
Packages, recycles and provides product stewardship and waste management of regulated gases and chemicals in UK, US, Australia, South Africa and Asia.

Beard, Swindon
Family-run construction company, focussed on innovative building solutions and collaborative working styles across the west and central England.

Centaur Veterinary Services, Castle Cary
Distributor of veterinary products to the UK’s veterinary market

Pendennis Shipyard, Falmouth
One of the world’s leading super-yacht builders with a heritage spanning 23 years.

Vi-Spring, Plymouth
Market leader in luxury bed designs and manufacturing. While it has a British heritage, international exports are expanding.

Watson Marlow, Falmouth
Worldwide peristaltic pump and tubing manufacturer with applications in the biopharma, food and chemical industries.
