Seminar to show the value of business

Business owners wondering what their firm might be worth will get a helping hand at seminar in Swindon later this month.
The free Value of a Business event staged by Banks, Chartered Accountants is aimed at anyone thinking of selling their business, planning their exit strategy or needing to place a value on their business.
The seminar will be held at Banks’s Stratton offices on Wednesday May 22, from 5.45pm for a 6-7pm seminar followed by buffet.
Guest speakers are Ian Parker, of The Infinite Group network of business advisors, and David Fawcus, of corporate finance lead advisory services Fawcus Corporate.
Banks director Richard Mathews said: “We often find our clients spend so much time on the day-to-day running of their business that when it comes to wanting to a put a value on it, they don’t know where to start.
“We want to help give people in this position a steer, and are delighted to be able to call on the expertise of Ian and David to advise them.”
Ian Parker has 20 years’ experience with blue-chip companies including four years as customer relations director at Orange. For the past 10 years he has been running his own company helping owners improve, grow and prepare to sell their businesses.
David Fawcus is an experienced corporate finance lead advisor, working for clients along the M4 corridor for more than 20 years. Fawcus Corporate mainly works on exit assignments with SMEs. During 2012, David acted as corporate finance lead advisor on a private equity transaction that was awarded the UK/Italian cross border Deal of the Year by Acquisition International.
