The phenomenal growth of Swindon online retailer Oak Furniture Land’s has been recognised in a ranking of the UK’s fastest-expanding privately-owned businesses.
The firm was placed at number 19 in the Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100, having achieved growth of 87.92% over the past three years.
Oak Furniture Land launched as an eBay retailer nine years ago and has since become a major player in the discount furniture market. It now employs nearly 300 people and last year moved into a 300,000 sq ft warehouse complex at South Marston.
The firm made pre-tax profits of £9.17m in the year to September 2012. Oak Land Furniture appears in the table for the first time.
