Private sector board member wanted for Swindon and Wiltshire LEP

Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) is looking for a high-profile business leader to join its board.

The individual needs to be from the private sector and will have a key role in driving the growth of the local economy.
 
The business-led private/public partnership is tasked with creating wealth, jobs and new business opportunities in the area. Established in February this year, the partnership is made up of 13 members, including the chair. Nine are from the private sector, with the other four members drawn from the most significant public sector organisations.
 
Chair of the board, Paul Johnson (pictured), said: "This is a great opportunity for someone with business experience to help shape the future of economic growth in our region. The local enterprise partnership has a significant role, working with national government and locally, to bring investment to the area and create wealth and jobs. This is a high profile role for a Board member with vision and a passion for the local area." 
 
Board members need to be either resident in the area or have a significant business interest.
