Proving that the recession is beatable, Swindon-based fire and flood restoration business 505 Associates have gone from a standing start in July 2011 to 20 staff and a £1m turnover in only 12 months.

505 Associates have the franchise for Rainbow International in the Wiltshire & Thames Valley area. Rainbow International is a UK wide franchise business specialising in restoring homes and businesses following fire, flood or accidental damage, as well as providing a commercial and domestic cleaning service.

Based in Headlands Grove Trading Estate in North Swindon, managing director Samantha Crawley and technical director Anthony Baddeley have invested in providing a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq ft disaster recovery and rapid response centre to provide the services needed to deliver day-to-day cleaning requirements as well as restoring homes and buildings after disaster strikes.

Technicians at the franchise, who are members of the British Disaster Management Association, have first-hand recovery experience having dealt with the major floods in 2007 and 2008 as well as with a record number of call-outs during the cold snap of 2010 and 2011 and the recent wet weather.
