The annual survey for UK entrepreneurs, 'Entrepreneurship UK: 2012/13' has been opened by business advisory firm Deloitte.

Now in its fifth year, Entrepreneurship UK is an authoritative report on the sector, reflecting the current attitudes, performance and objectives of entrepreneurs and their businesses. Last year entrepreneurs in the South West told us that:

  • 56% of the region’s entrepreneurial firms reported revenue growth in line with or above their projections for the year
  • 39% forecast double-digit growth over the next 12 months led by organic growth and new product development
  • 38% were stockpiling cash to support growth plan

Samantha Hart, Deloitte’s entrepreneurial business leader in the South West, said:  “When we conducted our survey in 2011, over 90% of our respondents in the South West anticipated revenue growth in 2012. The results of our 2012 survey will show whether entrepreneurs have been able to buck the gloomy trend of the UK economy and spearhead positive growth in these uncertain times.”

Analysed by Deloitte and the London Business School, the results will be published in early October. This year two entrepreneurs, James Sommerville (Attik) and Paul Lindsey (Ella’s Kitchen), will be providing their respective views on the results and will also form part of the panel at the launch event in October – joined by Keith Willey (London Business School) and Deloitte’s chief economist Ian Stewart.

The survey is open until the end of July and takes just 10 minutes to complete; simply visit: www.entrepreneurshipuk.com.
