Some 50 business leaders from the local business community attended a presentation on Tuesday evening last week, by one of the UK’s leading LinkedIn experts as part of Guyers House Hotel’s launch celebrations.

James Potter was invited to speak at Guyers House to help re-launch the Corsham-based hotel’s meeting and conference facilities.

James, who provides LinkedIn training and consultancy throughout the UK, gave an hour long presentation on how this online social media platform which has 150 million users worldwide can help individuals within businesses to network effectively with a view to boosting sales.

Guyers’ marketing manager, Sian Swift, who organised the event, commented: “I’m delighted with the response to this event illustrating that even though 40 million people currently use LinkedIn in the UK, it is still a relatively new networking method so there’s uncertainty over exactly how to use it.

“James, who is known as ‘The LinkedIn Man’, talked with authority, using knowledge he has learned not from reading a book but from having successfully implemented strategies for businesses of all sizes.”

Guyers House Hotel provides self-contained conference facilities in six acres of tranquil Wiltshire countryside, yet is only ten minutes from junction 17 of the M4, and 15 minutes from Chippenham rail station.

Attendees of yesterday’s event enjoyed Champagne and canapés and had an opportunity to look around Guyers House’s meeting and conference facilities which include a two AA rosette restaurant and a private conference suite with three syndicate rooms. Rates are £35 plus vat for a day delegate and £135 plus vat for residential delegates.

The hotel recently won two AA rosettes for its restaurant.
