Developer Hab Oakus' sustainable 42-home project in Swindon, The Triangle, has been named one of the winners at a top national achticture awards ceremony.
The residential development, backed by Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud and brought to life by Glenn Howells Architcts, won the Sustainability Award for South West and Wessex from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The project was chosen for its low-cost, environmentally responsible and social housing.
A spokesman said: "The houses are a thoughtful re-interpretation of the terrace vernacular. The terrace is articulated with chimney-like ventilation stacks, well-proportioned windows and the use of gabions to modify the visual impact of the car.
"The balance of public, communal and private spaces is one of the project's great successes, demonstrating the importance of good public realm design in creating sustainable communities and desirable places to live."
