A premier networking organisation for women in business is launching its next group at the Cricklade House Hotel on Wednesday February 15.

The main aims and objectives of Athena – which was launched nationally in 2005 – are to provide opportunities for members to make strategic connections with professionals in a wide range of industry sectors whilst encouraging women in business to inspire and support each other for greater success as well as facilitating on-going business training and personal development. Athena will regularly meet on the third Wednesday of the month from 12.00 – 2.00pm.

The launch meeting will be addressed by motivational guest speaker and business coach, Lizzie Whyte from Red Shoots.  Also attending on February 15 is Athena’s founder and CEO, Jacqueline Rogers, and the whole event will be expertly hosted by regional director, Rachel Goddard (pictured).

Athena North Swindon is Rachel’s second group in the region and launches hot on the heels of the success she has created at her popular South Swindon networking group (who meet every second Thursday of the month) at The Chiseldon House Hotel in Chiseldon.

Rachel said: “I chose Cricklade because it is ideally placed to attract business women from Cirencester, North Swindon and all the surrounding villages and because of the hotel’s high standards; it’s a really lovely venue.”

“A lot of the women who are attracted to become Athena members are sole traders or from SMEs and can feel isolated working either on their own or in a small company. The meetings give ladies a vital boost and the inspiration to push themselves and their businesses forward.”

“I really enjoy introducing like-minded women, who are passionate about growing and developing their businesses to one and other, and seeing where it leads.  The results can be quite astounding; the success stories that regularly come out of the Athena groups are just amazing!”

“I was so impressed by how well Athena’s networking meetings worked for me as a new member in Oxfordshire that I decided to become a Regional Director and continue to spread the success and mutual support into a new area!”
