Specialist engineering firm Deloro Stellite has ceased manufacturing at its Swindon factory and downsized its operation to become a sales and distribution centre for UK, Europe and Middle East/Asia.

The global company employs 15 staff in Swindon. Its new office at Kembrey Park has become its main focus as it establishes a strong European distribution network.

Meanwhile Deloro Stellite owners private equity firm Duke Street, which acquired the business in April 2006 for €175m (£145.7m) has agreed to sell its investment to Kennametal Inc of the US. The transaction, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to be completed by the end of March..
