Swindon-based Venues Event Management has achieved second place in the International Conference of the Year catergory at Conference and Incentive Travel’s inaugural Excellence Awards. Held at London’s Natural History Museum, the awards recognised and celebrated best practice across worldwide business to business conference and incentive activity.
The Venues Event Management entry focussed on an event for BP’s shipping division which took place in Singapore in June. The event, named ‘alltogethernow’, was designed to engage and motivate 72 delegates while delivering measureable return on investment. It was the first event of its kind for BP Shipping and brought together all shore-based shipping staff around the world as part of a series of four events.
Competing against five other high-profile agencies, the entry was judged by a panel of 19 experienced industry professionals, on the event objectives, solutions, creative, evaluation and results.
Venues Event Management chief executive Anita Lowe said: “We are proud of all the events we deliver but this one was certainly one of the stand-out ones for us this year. We achieved a very respectable result considering we were competing against several of the industry’s largest and most high-profile agencies.”
