SP Computers, one of Swindon area's largest independent computer companies, has become Samsung’s sole authorised independent retailer in the area after being approached by the Korean electronics giant to join the scheme.
As an authorised retailer, SP has access to a wide range of Samsung offers which it can pass on to business and domestic customers.
SP managing director Shane Perrin, said the firm is delighted to be selected. “Especially as it was Samsung which sought us out based on the work we have done, not only with retail but with the IT support we offer to businesses and domestic customers,” he said.
“The contract also means that any customers based in this area going to Samsung with an IT issue will be referred to us.”
SP moved to the IO Centre in Stratton two years ago after outgrowing its Old Town base. Since then it has continued to expand, taking on six more staff and an apprentice who has now qualified as an IT technician. The firm is about to recruit a second apprentice.
The company provides IT service and support packages to suit all business needs. Its 10,000 sq ft premises have two showrooms, a trade counter and a workshop with nine full-time technicians. It also has engineers specialising in data recovery and laptop repair.
SP also offers installation, networking and IT support to domestic customers. Shane added: “I think it is our success in this area that attracted Samsung. They have seen our work and know we do a good job.”
