Swindon-based specialist paint supplier Holman is being promised a bright future after its acquisition by local businessman Paul Hague.

The 25-year-old business, based in Old Town, supplies specialist paints and coatings such as wood treatments, industrial and fire-resistant finishes and furniture lacquers, and is the exclusive distributor for several leading manufacturers.

Mr Hague, who runs Broadoak IM from Great Bedwyn, near Marlborough, has a track record of developing industrial businesses.

The deal, financial details of which have not been disclosed, was brokered by KBS corporate, a Bolton-based firm which advises individuals, directors and companies on selling or acquiring businesses.

KBS Corporate deal executive Chris Hinchey said: “Holman’s new owner plans to develop the existing brand further within the marketplace and identify new distribution channels which should provide it with a bright and sustainable future.

“I believe the strong infrastructure put in place by our client combined with the experience of the new owner will allow Holman to undergo a significant period of growth.”

Mr Hague has a commanding background in the paints industry having accrued over 17 years’ experience in managing director roles, said Mr Hinchley.

“He has injected growth to a number of companies by restructuring marketing, improving customer services and undertaking product development,” he said.
