Bosses from Hilditch Group, the Malmesbury-based medical equipment auctioneer, will attend a reception at Buckingham Palace this evening to celebrate the firm’s first Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Hilditch is the only Wiltshire business to have received an award this year. The firm’s representatives will join other winners of the 2011 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise at the reception and will have the opportunity to meet Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
Managing director Michael Hilditch said: “After seven years of convincing the NHS of the benefits of selling medical equipment, now almost all NHS Trusts and private health groups use our services to sell their surplus equipment and buyers are attracted from all over the globe.
“The award will strengthen our business in the many countries that work with us, particularly in the Commonwealth where the award is highly respected. It has already helped raise our profile among our UK customers, whose support has been crucial in winning this award.”
He thanked the firm’s customers, buyers and vendors, adding: “We look forward to continuing to improve our current performance. You never know – perhaps we can win again next year. To win a second award in the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee would be an even more triumphant accolade.”
