German car giant Volkswagen has taken a 56% controlling stake in MAN, the German truckmaker which has its UK HQ in Swindon.
The move, the result of a mandatory offer for MAN shares on the Frankfurt stock exchange, adds a second company to VW's truck business on top of Swedish firm Scania.
With control of MAN, VW said it is looking to create 'synergies' between MAN, Scania and Volkswagen.
