Swindon's economic development and regeneration company, Forward Swindon, is inviting local businesses to find out about trading in China at a unique event, on Wednesday, July 6th at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, 5.30-7.00pm.
China has a formidable economic track record, for example during 2009 it grew by 8.7%, exceeding all other major global economies. However, many UK businesses find taking the first steps to trading with China difficult, due to the rapidly changing environment, and barriers such as politics and language. Forward Swindon is helping to combat these issues by bringing together key export specialists who can provide practical support and experience of building business there. The event is free, and open to any company interested in developing an export or import strategy for China.
Sponsored by HSBC, speakers at the event include Bill Cotton, Economic Development Director Forward Swindon, Chen Wu of the China-Britain Business Council, and Jeremy Holt – a professional with direct experience of doing business in China. Representatives from UKTI (UK Trade & Investment) and the Chamber of Commerce will also be on hand. For further information on the “Doing Business with China” event, and to book your place please contact Suzanne Swann on 01793 429 250, or email suzanneswann@forwardswindon.co.uk.
Forward Swindon is a member of the new Link to China initiative, which will connect Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce through an innovative procurement database.
