Logistics group Wincanton today said it had recently renewed a number of major contracts and was confident of further deals later this year.
In a trading update to the London Stock Exchange ahead of its preliminary annual results, the Chippenham-based group also said its performance continued to be broadly in line with management expectations.
The core UK business had benefited from the renewed contracts with Swindon-based retailer WH Smith, Chippenham-based plastic pipe manufacturers Wavin, Comet, Tesco, BP and Nestle and is "confident of further key renewals later in the year and can report a healthy new business pipeline", according to chief executive Eric Born.
He said the only recent area of concern was reduced revenue from its German intermodal business due to a four-week closure of the Rhine.
Wincanton will report its preliminary results for the year to March 31 on June 9.
