Plans to develop a 74.5-hectare site near Coate Water in Swindon have been put on hold for the time being after councillors failed to vote it through on a technicality last night.
The councillors agreed to suspend the vote until there was a guarantee of the buffer zone between the development and Coate Water itself.
The development plans include the provision of 890 homes, a primary school and industrial park.
