Despite difficult economic times in 2010, Swindon Chamber of Commerce saw an increase in its membership of 11 per cent over the previous year.
Commenting on the surpirise growth, president of Swindon Chamber of Commerce, Gary Mealing, said: “In what was an undoubtedly a challenging year, it is incredibly positive for us as a Chamber to have seen the number of businesses involved with us increase. As we start 2011 I would encourage anyone who wants to interact with other businesses, to network and find new customers, to consider joining your local Chamber of Commerce.”
As the economy slowly edges back towards growth, it has become more and more important for businesses to network and get sound business advice, the Chamber provides companies with the opportunity to meet and discuss business with a diverse range of firms across the Thames Valley, providing a relaxed atmosphere to increase and enrich business relationships.
Lawrence Whatton, of litho and digital print company, Rumbold Holland said: “I saw this membership as an ideal business growth opportunity and a good chance to seize the advantage of getting to know other local and regional business partners – and it is starting to work already, we have never looked back.”
