Wilts, the UK’s largest independent electrical wholesaler, has congratulated two employees who have recently reached 25 years service with the company.
Now employing over 600 people with a head office in Trowbridge, Wilts has been owned by the Kingsbury family since 1946. Despite the company’s phenomenal growth, the business has retained its traditional family feel with a personal attitude and strong values, which is further reflected in its workforce.
Celebrating a quarter of a century with the company this month are Paul Clark and Martin Wicheard, who both have family members also working for Wilts.
Paul Clark, national sales coordinator, started at Wilts as stock controller. He has progressed into a variety of roles over the past 25 years including systems analyst, team leader and buyer and purchasing manager.
Paul commented: “I enjoy my job at Wilts as it is both varied and challenging. As a family, we are glad that the Kingsbury’s invested here in Trowbridge.”
Martin Wicheard, branch manager at Chippenham, is also celebrating 25 years at Wilts. With his wife Karen working in purchase ledger and their son in the finance department, the family has watched the Wilts brand grow first hand.
Originally a warehouse person, Martin has also been a relief van driver for the company, including the first trunker run from Trowbridge to Bath, Bristol and Gloucester. After roles on the trade counter and in telesales, Martin was asked to go to the Chippenham branch to ‘help out’. 22 years later, he is still there.
He said: “I enjoy my work, especially the challenges we face to keep our customers happy. I am lucky enough to work with some great colleagues, who offer their support each and every day.”
