Swindon Commercial Services has recently attained three BSI standards for the quality, security and design of their PVCu windows and doors.
For over 20 years SCS have been producing high specification, premium quality windows and doors for a broad range of clients from its Cheney Manor production facility.
In response to their clients’ need for improved security and peace of mind, SCS embarked on a programme to obtain these three BSI accreditations and the UK Police flagship initiative Secured by Design. The Secured by Design award ensures that the windows and doors they fabricate meet the required security standards to support the principles of effective crime prevention.
Established in 1989, Secured by Design is a Police initiative focusing on quality security products and crime prevention projects for homes , commercial premises and car parks.
SCS is the only windows fabricator and installer in Swindon to hold Secured by Design in its own right. This award and the accreditations for the following three British Standards detailed below means SCS can offer its clients and end users unrivalled peace of mind from its products.
BS 6375 – window weather and mechanical performance
BS 7412 – window construction, security, safety, operation and strength performance.
BS 7950 – Specification for enhanced security performance of windows for domestic applications. This is required to achieve the Secured by Design award.
On receiving the accreditations, Marcus Walker-Loveridge, PVCu Business Unit General Manager at
Swindon Commercial Services said: “This is an important achievement for the staff here at SCS. Being awarded the Secured by Design and BSI accreditations is a very positive step forward.
“This combined with our Energy Rated windows, FENSA accreditation and ISO9001, further enhance the quality of windows and doors we manufacture for customers and the first class service they receive from our team.”
