Acting on behalf of Zarlink Semiconductors, Keningtons Chartered Surveyors have completed the sale of Building 109, Cheney Manor, Swindon.
The five storey office building which provides 32,900 sq ft with 213 car parking spaces was previously occupied by Zarlink as their main office facility within the complex built in the 1970s and early ‘80s when the company was previously known as Plessey.
The purchasers are intending to refurbish and develop a fully serviced office centre, with facilities that can be used by other occupiers on the Cheney Manor Estate. Unlike many of the existing service office centres they will be able to accommodate requirements from as small as a single office for one person, through to self contained half floors of 3,500 sq ft or entire floors of 7,600 sq ft. They will also be able to offer occupiers, car parking at a ratio of 1 space per 150 sq ft.
Jeremy Sutton of Keningtons commented: “The building became vacant when Zarlink underwent a restructuring and relocated their office function to Kembrey Park. It is always good to see a vacant office building receiving a new lease of life.”
