As an early gift to shoppers and retailers alike, inSwindon, the town centre management company, is providing free bus travel to encourage late night shopping in the run up to Christmas.
Every Thursday evening from 26th November, anyone travelling to and from Swindon town centre by bus can do so free of charge, between 6.00 pm and 9.30 pm.
“Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year, so we’re doing our bit to ensure life’s made a bit easier for everyone,” said Simon Jackson, inSwindon’s CEO.
“Instead of worrying about parking spaces or bus fares, shoppers can make the most of what the town centre has to offer.”
Local bus companies Stagecoach and Thamesdown Transport are both participating in the initiative.
“We’re delighted to be supporting inSwindon and the town centre,” said Paul Jenkins, Thamesdown Transport’s Managing Director.
“It’s a perfect opportunity for shoppers to leave their cars at home and let us do the driving.”
Free bus travel is available for journeys taken in the Swindon TravelPass Plus area (which includes Cricklade, Wootton Bassett, Acorn Bridge, Draycot Foliat and Highworth), on the following dates: 26th November, 3rd December, 10th December and 17th December, between 6.00pm and 9.30pm.
