The developer of the Locarno and Old Town Hall in Swindon has gone into administration, plunging the scheme’s future in doubt.

The firm, Bach Homes, had plans to redevelop the site into restuarants, bars and apartments.

The company’s administration process will be handled by insolvency practitioners, Harrisons.

The scheme is said to have been hit hard by the recent downturn in the economic climate, even though planning permission had already been granted and extensive plans were underway.
