The impact of the global banking crisis on the UK economy and the long-term effects on business will be examined by senior economist for HSBC Bank, Mark Berrisford-Smith, during a visit to Swindon in February.

Mark Berrisford-Smith, who advises HSBC and its customers on developments in the UK and global economies and the performance of regions and key industry sectors, will be sharing his insights with Swindon’s business leaders at the Great Western Business Breakfast taking place at STEAM on 26 February.

He will explore what can be done, how long the recession is likely to last, whether the Government’s stimulus package is likely to work, and what the UK economy is expected to look like once the credit crunch is over.

The Great Western Business Breakfast events are run regularly during the year by Withy King solicitors, Monahans chartered accountants, Cattles Invoice Finance, the FD Centre and HSBC. To hear Mark Berrisford-Smith’s presentation over breakfast on 26 February, please email Lisa Badger at lbadger@cattlesif.co.uk to reserve a place.
