2009 will be a challenging year for almost every business across the South West of England. Few will prosper without adapting fast to the new economic realities brought on by the “credit crunch”.
Giving companies the practical help they need to face the new economic landscape a new service is being launched called Work Transformation (www.worktransformation.co.uk), which is holding its first two seminars at Twigworth, Gloucester on 29th January and South Cerney, near Cirencester on 30th January.
The service provides expert, cost-effective business advice, from restructuring to redundancy support, including outplacement delivery.
Work Transformation is a unique joint venture between Heather Resource Management Ltd (HRML) and Quest Partnership, two companies which understand the struggle many companies face as they tear up their business plans and consider the new economic realities and opportunities.
HRML provides practical employment law advice and guidance and Quest provides business psychology consultancy, helping organisations become more efficient by getting the best out of their people. The service offered by Work Transformation helps companies seeking to restructure their businesses to survive and seize new opportunities.
Julie Heather of HRML, said: “Companies are making difficult decisions in order to maintain their business. Redundancy, if that is the solution, is distressing but companies facing up to the process early are more likely to survive, protecting the jobs of those who remain employed.  However, redundancy is a legal minefield and employers getting it wrong face enormously increased financial consequences.”
Max Choi at Quest Partnership, said: “Building staff morale and motivation is vital over the next few years. In a recession, businesses need a flexible and efficient workforce to deliver more, for less. Staff will be more committed and productive if they feel valued, especially in tough times. We help businesses demonstrate this by providing professional support to staff making career transitions, within an accessible budget.”

The Work Transformation seminars will provide attendees with sound, practical advice to take away, some of which can be implemented immediately, giving instant benefit to their business.  For those companies with more complicated requirements, free one-to-one sessions with Work Transformation experts can be arranged.
Julie added: “Those businesses facing the realities head-on will survive and emerge from the downturn much fitter and sharper than they would otherwise have been.”
