Plans to create a new 35,000sq ft trade park in Swindon have been unveiled. Bristol-based Eagle Land last week applied for planning permission to build 13 trade and industrial units on a derelict two acre site at the busy Cheney Manor Industrial Estate. The units would be housed in three separate blocks. Contractors from Conlon in Swindon started demolishing the former Plessey’s canteen, which currently occupies the site, in August. That work is set to be completed by the end of this month. Located on the corner of the industrial estate’s main road, it is a highly visible site and there has already been strong interest from potential operators. Paul Withers from Eagle Land said: “We are very pleased to announce our plans for this site. Work is currently underway to demolish the former Plessey’s canteen and prepare the site so that we can get construction started quickly once we have gained planning permission. Agents on the development are Whitmarsh Lockhart.
