International property consultancy JLL’s lead director for the South West & Wales, Jeremy Richards, is to step down from the role at the end of this year and will be replaced by director of project and development services Simon Peacock.

Jeremy will take on the role of regional chairman from January after nearly 14 years as head of the Bristol office of JLL, including five as head of the region. Simon Peacock, who is also based in the Bristol office, has worked at JLL for more than 16 years.

JLL UK CEO Chris Ireland said: “We are very grateful for Jeremy’s immense contribution to the success of the business in the region and we are delighted that his influence will continue as chairman of the South West & Wales region.

“We are very fortunate to have such a strong and experienced team in the region to take the business forward and I am delighted that Simon Peacock will be taking up the role of lead director from 2017.”

Simon Peacock said his appointment came at an exciting time for JLL as it prepared to move its Bristol office a short distance from Berkeley Square to a state-of-the-art space at 31 Great George Street – accountancy group PwC’s former regional base – which would enable a more modern style of working.

“I’m looking forward to leading a team that is involved in a wide range of projects and deals that help to shape the towns and cities across our region,” he said.

Jeremy Richards added: “It has been a real privilege to lead such a fantastic team. After 14 years of heading up the Bristol office, now feels like the right time to take on new challenges that will help underpin the growth of JLL in the region.

“I will be focusing my time on client relationships, nurturing talent and working with the business community. Simon will bring energy, experience and a fresh perspective to our ever-evolving business.”

JLL works on a range of high-profile projects across the region, including advising on the new 580,000 sq ft industrial development at the former Rolls Royce site in Patchway and marketing Oceansgate, a new hub for marine businesses in Plymouth.

The firm’s South West & Wales region also encompasses offices in Cardiff, Exeter and Southampton.
