Accountancy firm Grant Thornton’s South West region has promoted Jenny Batchelor to partner.

Jenny, pictured, advises privately-owned businesses and listed companies on domestic and international tax matters, including tax efficient restructuring, acquisition structures and AIM listings.

Grant Thornton said her promotion came off the back of the firm’s continued drive to invest in, and grow, its people and was in recognition of her significant contribution to the firm over the past 10 years.

Jenny, who works in the firm’s Bristol office, has worked across many different industries with extensive experience in construction, food and beverage and online gaming, and helps clients at all stages of the business life cycle to ensure their tax position meets their commercial aims.

She trained with Andersen before transitioning to Deloitte, and in 2006 joined Grant Thornton’s Gatwick office.

She has since risen through the ranks and helped hundreds of companies with their business growth. In 2009 she was seconded to a multinational group to cover the UK head of tax role, giving her invaluable insight into the commercial pressures and challenges clients face.

Grant Thornton South West practice leader Tim Lincoln said: “Jenny is a spirited individual who has already made her mark on the team since relocating from Gatwick earlier this year. She brings nearly 20 years’ experience to the firm and thoroughly deserves her promotion to partner. She is our seventh partner, a sign of the health and vitality of our team and our commitment to strengthening our position across the region.”

Jenny added: “The South West is home to such a diverse range of interesting, growth orientated businesses, from food producers to technology developers, and there is a huge amount of talent to tap into.

“I’m delighted to be promoted to partner and am passionate about continuing to work really closely with my clients to understand their wider business growth journey and provide a truly personalised experience.”
