The Business Growth Service has appointed Andre Smague as business growth manager for Wiltshire – a role in which he will focus on supporting the county’s manufacturers with leadership and development, business improvement and supply chain opportunities.

Andre, pictured, is a highly focused operations/supply chain manager with more than12 years’ experience in manufacturing, logistics and purchasing.

He joins the Business Growth Service from Metall-FX, the Hungerford-based high-end metallic finishing company, where he was operations manager.

Andre said: “I grew up in Wiltshire and it is fantastic to have the opportunity to help local businesses developing products right on my doorstep. The manufacturing base in the area is so diverse and I am looking forward to helping companies achieve their growth ambitions.

“I am also focused on helping to develop a business support network in the area and am already working closely with organisations including the Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Inspire (Wessex Chambers) and Forward Swindon as well as local colleges.”

The Business Growth Service brings together a broad range of expertise so that businesses can get the right advice and support to fulfil their growth potential.

The service includes support from GrowthAccelerator, the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), design support from the Design Council and Intellectual Property audits from the Intellectual Property Office.

UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) and UKEF (UK Export Finance) work with the Business Growth Service to provide export support where it is needed and the service is closely linked with Swindon-based Innovate UK and the British Business Bank.
