A golf day organised by Swindon accountancy firm Banks BHG raised more than £1,000 for Inner Flame – its charity of the year – which delivers The Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Swindon to help young people into employment.

More than 35 keen golfers from among Banks BHG clients, colleagues and associates took part in the event at Wrag Barn Golf Club. Franchise consultant Andy Barnett won the best overall individual prize. An auction of a round of golf, donated by Wrag Barn, also added to the £1,015 total.

BHG head of tax Paul Gosling, who organised the event, said: “The day and the weather were really good, and everybody enjoyed themselves. Wrag Barn were very supportive and we’re delighted to have boosted our yearly fundraising.”

Inner Flame founder David Wreathall added: “What an excellent day and many thanks to the directors and clients of Banks BHG. We are very grateful to Paul and his colleagues for choosing us as their charity of the year. As a bonus, the weather and golf were great, and thanks to Wrag Barn too.”
