Swindon-based recruitment firm C&D’s managing director Karen Davison-Renouf has been appointed as a member of industry body the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) council.

Karen, pictured, is one of six new members elected at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting last week and one of four non-executive directors. The REC is committed to raising standards and highlighting excellence throughout the recruitment industry.

REC chief executive Kevin Green said: “We want our industry to be recognised as the engine that drives the jobs market.

“Our council plays a vital role in giving us strategic direction and I’m delighted to welcome our new non-executive directors, all of whom bring a wealth of experience, know-how and passion which will help us do more for our members.”

Karen launched C&D nearly 20 years ago, growing it into a well-established business with a coveted REC accreditation.

She said:  “My key reason for joining the REC board is to encourage recruitment investment away from the traditional telesales approach – endemic within the recruitment market place – to a more customer focussed strategy.

“Promoting excellent recruitment practice at all levels so that every candidate journey is rewarding and rich in feedback, regardless of the end result.

“I am really looking forward to working with the REC team and my fellow board directors who have so much to share, collectively can challenge any complacency within our industry and provide first-class guidance to share amongst our members and customers.”
