Swindon executive travel company Flightlink has continued to expand its fleet with the addition of three new Mercedes E-Class cars.

The vehicles, representing a total investment of around £100,000, have also strengthened the Cheney Manor-based firm’s partnership with dealer Mercedes-Benz of Swindon.

Flightlink has officially partnered with Mercedes-Benz of Swindon, which operates from a dealership in Drakes Way, to provide new vehicles and service its 40-plus cars since 2012. The majority of its fleet are E-Class saloons and none is older than three years old – meaning it buys new vehicles at least once a month. All are fitted with state-of-the-art GPS tracking and passenger security systems.

Flightlink’s fleet covers more than 1.7m miles a year. As a result the firm, which has been in business for 21 years, seeks to buy the most-reliable vehicles on the market and services them every six to eight weeks to ensure they remain in tip-top condition.

Managing director Mike McCartney said: “Mercedes-Benz of Swindon provides us with excellent support and its service team has come to understand our business needs very well.

“As a company that works across the region, we could have chosen any of the area’s dealerships but selected Swindon as we are committed to buying as locally as possible.

“Right now we probably have the youngest corporate travel fleet in the South West, and definitely the largest fleet in the area, with our cars being equally distributed across a range from brand new to three years old.

“This, together with our rigorous safety checks and strict servicing regime, means our customers can always be confident in the reliability of our vehicles and they know that we will get them where they need to go on time.”

Mercedes-Benz of Swindon managing director Mike Fellows added: “We have an outstanding relationship with Flightlink, who provide first-class service to their customers.

“Our aim is to mirror that with our strong partnership and service support to their large fleet of Mercedes-Benz cars. Their focus on regularly purchasing new vehicles with the latest technology and environmental benefits shows that Flightlink is at the forefront of executive travel.”

Mercedes-Benz of Swindon is part of the Leicester-based Sytner Group, which has 140 dealerships across the UK.
