Swindon-headquartered specialist law firm Hyphen Law has appointed Robert Hurling as a Court of Protection solicitor.

Admitted as a solicitor in 2007, Robert, pictured, has extensive experience as a Court of Protection practitioner providing deputyship services and advising on personal injury trusts. He will be based at Hyphen Law’s rapidly expanding offices in London.

Hyphen Law, an associate company of Swindon law firm Thrings, is a national team of highly-experienced, dedicated specialist lawyers and support staff working solely on Court of Protection cases relating to property and affairs. It works with case managers, solicitors, families and carers to deliver tailored deputyship services and personal injury trusts.

Robert joins from London firm Hodge Jones & Allen where the majority of his work involved managing the property and financial affairs of clients with high-value clinical negligence awards. Prior to that, he worked as a solicitor in the property and affairs team at the Official Solicitor’s Office.

In his new role he will be dealing with deputyship and personal injury trust-related matters including applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of deputies, statutory wills and gifts and the creation and management of personal injury trust.

He said: “Hyphen Law is a young, dynamic, rapidly-growing firm and I am excited to be part of its expansion plans as it looks to increase business in the capital.

“I have great admiration for Hyphen Law’s work, particularly its work helping brain-injured clients and their families and I am looking forward to contributing to the valuable work they do.”

Hyphen Law director of Deputyships Christine Bunting, who is based in Swindon, said Robert’s extensive experience in Court of Protection work would significantly strengthen the firm’s 10-strong team of specialist solicitors and support staff.

She said: “Business is expanding and we are working on a growing number of high-value, complex claims which require a bespoke, holistic approach to provide the very best client care.

“Robert has exactly the right combination of experience, commitment to high levels of client service, energy and ambition that we were looking for and we are delighted to welcome him to our dedicated team.”
