Law firm Withy King has expanded the residential property team in its Swindon and Marlborough offices, making it one of the largest in Wiltshire.

Solicitor Kirsty Andrews joins from Carter Read & Dove in Swindon, bringing a wealth of residential property experience to the firm.

Meanwhile, law graduates Eleanor Woodman and Megan Payne have been taken on as conveyancing assistants to provide support to the legal team, giving them valuable experience as they progress to becoming qualified solicitors.

Withy King will also recruit a conveyancer for its Marlborough office in the near future.

Partner Robert Collins, who heads the 16-strong Wiltshire residential property team, said: “We have seen a steady increase in market activity over the last 12 months with renewed interest across the board from investors, homeowners and first-time buyers, which in turn is fuelling our growth.

“There are signs that the recent changes to the stamp duty threshold are already stimulating the market with more people now able to sell at a price which reflects the true value of their homes rather than one chosen to avoid the next tax bracket.

“Our property advice and conveyancing services are delivered by qualified lawyers, working alongside Wiltshire’s most highly-respected estate agencies. We are delighted to welcome Kirsty, Eleanor and Megan to our team.”

Withy King’s merger with Swindon law firm Lemon & Co also contributed towards its growth with its residential property solicitors David Halfhead and James Summerfield now part of Withy King’s team.
