Experienced entrepreneur joins board of Alliance Pharma as non-executive director

Chippenham-based speciality pharmaceutical company Alliance Pharma has appointed tech entrepreneur and experienced businessman Nigel Clifford as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

Mr Clifford, pictured, is chief executive of Procserve Holdings, a London, Cambridge and Guildford-based company specialising in technology that enables secure transactions online. He is also a non-executive director of Slough firm Anite, which makes mobile device, infrastructure and network testing systems for the international wireless market.

He has previously held senior positions at a number of software and telecoms-related firms including Newbury-based Micro Focus International, Tertio Telecoms, which was sold to US firm Evolving Systems  in 2004 for $40.7m, Nokia, Symbian Software, Cable and Wireless, Glasgow Royal Infirmary NHS Trust and BT.

Alliance Pharma chairman Andrew Smith said: “Nigel’s breadth of business experience and his significant exposure to international and European markets make him a strong addition to the Alliance team.”
