The spotlight will be turned on crowd funding next week when expert Anthony Lovell de Souza talks to Swindon networking group Business Village.

Crowd funding is an emerging online concept, which anyone can use to raise money for a project or idea. In the last four years, more than 170 crowd funding websites have sprung up around the UK raising hundreds of millions of pounds for startups, existing business and charities.

Anthony, pictured, editor and publisher of CrowdFunding Focus magazine, said: “Crowd funding is asking a crowd of people to donate or invest a defined amount of money for a specific cause or project in exchange for various rewards. In essence, crowd funding is a new source of cash for startups, existing businesses and charities.”

Anthony will deliver his talk – How to Crowd Fund My Next Project or Idea – at Business Village next Thursday.

The group meets each Thursday between 7.30am and 9am for breakfast and networking at The Campanile hotel on Swindon’s Delta Business Park. The group does not charge a membership fee and meetings are just £10 per visit. To book visit www.businessvillage.org.
