Swindon-based specialist recruitment firm Outsource UK has hit the acquisition trail again, taking over Manchester recruitment consultancy Chrysalis Digital Recruitment.
The acquisition is Outsource’s third in three years following the November 2011 takeover of Staffordshire-based Omnium IT Recruitment and the July 2013 deal which added Manchester-based defence and engineering recruitment firm Bramlove to the group.
Further acquisitions are planned as the company, which specialises in supplying contract and permanent IT and engineering staff, reaffirms its status as one of the fastest-growing companies in its sector.
It will also allow Outsource to launch a division specialising in staff for firms working in the digital industry.
Chrysalis Recruitment owners Chris Crawford and Harriet Sanders and all the firm’s staff will transfer to Outsource. Chris Crawford will lead the new digital division.
Outsource founder and managing director Paul Jameson, pictured, said: “This is another great strategic acquisition for us.
“The businesses are very complementary and this new digital division will expand our IT expertise and broaden our area of reach. Chrysalis specialise in recruiting staff for the digital sector so this acquisition complements our IT specialism and provides new opportunities for growth.
“This is another important step in expanding the business and strengthening Outsource’s competitive position. We plan to continue to grow through strategic acquisitions as well as continuing our period of growth as the economy recovers and the demand for staff increases.”
Chris Crawford added: “I’m really pleased to be joining Outsource UK. Chrysalis are specialists in an expanding market so becoming part of a much larger group will allow us to develop and to gain more market share.
“We have shared ethics and real synergy in how both organisations work. Like Outsource, Chrysalis was built on a foundation of developing relationships with our clients and focusing on investing in our staff in order to provide a first class quality service.”
Outsource, launched by Paul Jameson in 1991, now employs 60 people and is on track for a turnover of £40m this year. As well as its headquarters in Swindon, it has offices in the Midlands, Manchester and London. No financial details of the Chrysalis acquisition have been disclosed.
