Zoe Martin, an associate director at national accountancy firm Baker Tilly’s Swindon office, has achieved The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) diploma after passing all her exams.

The diploma, a specialist private client qualification which recognises expertise in the fields of trusts and estates, is already held by Zoe’s Swindon office colleagues Sharon Omer-Kaye and Sharon Davies. The three are also chartered tax advisers.

STEP is a global professional organisation and members work with private clients to advise on issues such as inheritance tax, succession planning, advice on wills, powers of attorney, complex international matters, family business advice, trusts and probate matters.

To achieve STEP practitioner status, individuals must demonstrate a deep understanding of subjects such as law, taxation and international issues with members committing to a strict code of professional conduct that inspires the confidence, respect and trust of clients.                                         Pictured: Zoe Martin

Sharon Omer-Kaye, who is the office’s managing partner, said: “Zoe should be very proud to have achieved STEP practitioner status. Her qualification is not only a fantastic professional achievement for her, but it also reinforces the breadth of expertise in domestic and international private client issues that we now have in our Swindon office.

“Recent legislative changes mean that personal planning is now more important than ever, and Zoe’s achievement means that we are now better placed to provide specialist advice and guidance to more individuals and families.”

Baker Tilly’s private client team has been shortlisted as finalists for the STEP private client accountancy team of the year award. The winner will be announced on September 17.

Baker Tilly’s Swindon office has six partners and 40 staff who offer a full range of audit, accountancy, tax, corporate finance, restructuring and business advisory services.
