Flexible workspace group Regus looking to open more sites in Swindon

Global workspace provider Regus plans to increase its presence in Swindon after appointing West-based property consultancy Alder King to search for new sites across the South West and South Wales.

The firm has a base on Swindon’s Windmill Hill Business Park and an ‘express’ centre in the Staples store at Greenbridge among the 300-plus it operates across the UK.

Now it is looking for further bases in the town as well as in urban centres across the region including Bath, Cheltenham and Taunton.

It will focus on properties between 10,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft in traditional central and out-of-town business locations. It is also keen to identify transport hubs, universities and shopping centres where it can open business centres as it looks to meet the needs of an increasingly-mobile workforce. Regus has a number of centres at motorway services areas including, on the M4, at Leigh Delamere near Chippenham and Membury near Lambourn.

Alder King head of agency Simon Price said: “Regus has identified untapped demand for flexible workplaces in a number of towns across the region and excessive demand in centres where it already has representation such as Bristol and Exeter.

“We will use our unrivalled knowledge of the region’s office market to help Regus expand its network and meet this demand over the next 12 months.”
