Facilities management company Swindon Commercial Services (SCS) has appointed James Owen as head of Energy and Sustainability.
James is tasked with delivering sustainable energy projects to businesses, governmental organisations as well as individual consumers in and around the M4/M5 corridors.
James has a diverse education and skills background and is currently doing an MSC in Environmental Decision Making with the Open University. He has spent the last 11 years in the renewable energy and sustainability sector, most recently working for the UK’s largest solar developer.
Commenting on his appointed, James said: “SCS are uniquely placed as a commercial organisation with a very strong sense of community value due to our relationship with Swindon Borough Council.
"As such we will be focusing on delivering sustainability and energy projects that will deliver significant benefit to people and organisations within the Swindon area as well as to the wider M4/M5 corridor.
"We intend to deliver both large and small scale solutions across a wide range of arenas including the construction of truly low carbon homes, retrofitting energy efficiency measures to existing homes and business under the Green Deal, developing large scale renewable energy projects and developing innovative solutions to waste streams.”
